Family Sizes Getting Smaller in Seoul

Traditional families in Seoul have drastically broken down into smaller units over the past decades and citizens’ perspectives have changed accordingly, showed a Seoul City survey Tuesday.

The percentage of parent-children families, the most typical form of tradition family, has fallen from 54.8 percent in 1980 to 42.9 percent this year, said officials. The figure is expected to fall to 36.2 percent by year 2030.
