Ministry Pushes for E-book Roadmap

The government said yesterday that it will devise a roadmap this year on how to develop the rapidly-growing electronic book industry.  The Ministry of Knowledge Economy will work together with the education and culture ministries to encourage technological development and set industrial standards.

With the rising popularity of smartphones and other wireless handheld devices, the digital contents market is projected to grow up to $8.9 billion in 2013, sharply jumping from $1.9 billion in 2008, according to officials at the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.
