Lee in Full-Scale Drive for Education Reform

President Lee Myung-bak said Wednesday South Korea’s future hinges on reforming the country’s education system, as he presided over the first monthly meeting of high-level education authorities launched to study ways to improve public schools.

Lee credited the country’s education system for contributing to rapid economic growth by providing talented human resources, but stressed that it is time to reform the system to make it a better fit for a new environment in the 21st century.
