Teachers’ Bonuses to be Linked to Schools’ Performance (Korean Teachers)

Performance-based bonuses for teachers at primary and secondary schools across the country will be linked to their schools’ overall performance, beginning next year, the Education Ministry said yesterday.

The bonus gap among teachers will also increase up to about 1.37 million won ($1,169) in a move to promote competition and enhance public school education, according to the ministry.  The bonus payment has so far been based on teachers’ individual performance.
