Parents and Students to Join Teacher Evaluations
The government said yesterday that it will introduce teacher evaluations at all primary and secondary schools starting from the new semester in March.
Under the plan, teachers including principals are to be evaluated by students, parents and fellow teachers on 18 assessment categories.

Editors Note: Allowing parents and students to have a say in teacher evaluations could have a huge affect on a country with a history of high workplace stress (and the odd case of bribing teachers for better grades). Hopefully this will be properly managed so that teachers feel confident to teach students to the best of their ability. At least it would make teachers think twice about using any form of corporal punishment…
