Lies My Recruiter Told Me

There are many reasons why native English speakers come to Korea to teach English.  Many are young and want to experience living and working in a different culture. Others are older and want to contribute something positive to the lives of their students. And in these tough economic times, some come to Korea out of financial necessity.

Whatever the reason, the vast majority of foreign English teachers must go through a recruiter they never see in order to secure a teaching position. Many of these recruiters are, to put it mildly, less than honest.
