Young N.Koreans Find Adapting to School in South Hard
Young North Korean refugees have described their difficulties adapting to schooling in South Korea as figures revealed their dropout rate remains high.
“I went to elementary school until the second grade in North Korea, and stayed at home for seven years in China to avoid arrest and deportation. Because of my age, I had to go straight to high school when I came here. Even if I could simply memorize English, math is too difficult and the terms are completely different,” said one.
