Welcome to Expacked (Issue #33)

July 30, 2009

For those who are heading overseas for the summer holidays, it will pay to be extra careful this time as countries around the world are on high alert for the swine flu.  Here’s a horror story from a group of New Zealanders who have just been on a trip to Vietnam: Sick Kiwis Suffer Holiday from Hell.Testing Swine Flu on Plane

Its great to see that the Seoul city government is planning to do more to help people adjust to living in Seoul.  It can be a daunting time for those new to the city and, to make life a little easier, booklets in English will be provided with information on transportation, housing and culture.

This is a much needed service and hopefully the informaiton will be able to get to thoses in need.  It would be even better if this booklet is given to every new teacher coming into Korea.  You can read more about this story in the newsletter below.

As usual, Korea has no shortage of news impacting teachers this week and I have a quick summary of these stories in Expacked.  The story headings are on the right.

I hope you enjoy the read and, of course, this week’s joke.
