School Violence Cases on the Increase in Gyeonggi-do

However it may be a function of institutions getting better at ferreting out cases which previously went undiscovered.

On the 24th the Gyeonggi-do Family and Women’s Research Institute (경기도가족여성연구원), Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency (경기지방경찰청), and the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education (교육청) published statistics showing that the number of students dealt with by police for incidents of school violence increased from 2,506 in 2006 to 5,213 in 2007 to 5,903 last year.
